Data Center Go Bag Pass1

Data Center Go Bag Pass1

So recently, I got tired of lugging TJ Maxx shopping bags full of cables and optics to the data center. It is wildly inefficient and too big. I tend to just throw things in it because it has the room. This can be a double-edged sword when it comes to hauling things around. After a while, you get bag bloat. As a result, I took a step back and did an evaluation.

TJJ Maxx bags aren’t bad just keep them for shopping

I am further along in my career than I was even 5 years ago. I don’t need to do everything. I have people for that, as they say. I am not a fiber technician. I am not an install technician. Sometimes, I play those roles still. If I do, I have others helping me, or it’s a planned-out project. This means I have the necessary tools and supplies for the project all planned ahead of time. I don’t have to have them with me at all times. If I run into a situation where I need such things I call someone and go have a snack while I wait.

For this exercise, I needed a go bag that could handle some cables, a tester, and some random parts and pieces. It was a bag I just take with me when I go to the Data Center. It needed to be small but still roomy. In comes the Rexmica small tool bag.

This bag is slightly too small for my needs, but it’s better than what I have been doing. I am continuing to look at other options.
