Data Center News
•Meta to open a data center in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
•Google is set to open a data center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The site sits amid 892 acres in the area of East Tillman Road and Adams Center Road. The area, southeast of downtown Fort Wayne, is the size of about 765 football fields. It’s about a mile north of the I-469 exit for Marion Center Road.
•Blackstone makes heavy investments in their data center portfolio.
•Indiana releases Digital Equity plan.
•EPA has concerns about lead cables from AT&T and Verizon.
•Sparklight has a slightly skewed view of Fixed Wireless.
•Preseem posts their Fixed Wireless Network Report.
•Microsoft lays off 1,900 employees, mainly due to Activision/Blizzard acquisition. The job cuts represent about an 8% reduction of Microsoft’s 22,000-person gaming workforce
•800 Gig on a single wavelength. The demonstration, which used Nokia’s FP5 IP service routing platforms and its sixth-generation coherent Photonic Service Engine (PSE-6s) technology, took place on a 1,386-kilometer link across Windstream’s live backbone network.
